TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE

Take my life, and let it be. Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands, and let them move, at the impulse of Thy love; Take my feet, and let them be, swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing, always, only, for my King; Take my lips, and let them be, filled with messages from Thee.

Take my silver and my gold: Not a mite would I withhold; Take my intellect, and use, ev'ry pow'r as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it Thine, it shall be no longer mine; Take my heart, it is Thine own, it shall be Thy royal throne.

Take my love, my Lord, I pour, at Thy feet its treasure store; Take myself, and I will be, ever, only, all for Thee.

TELL OUT, MY SOUL

Tell out, my soul, the greatness of the Lord!
Unnumbered blessings give my spirit voice;
Tender to me the promise of His Word;
In God my Saviour shall my heart rejoice.

Tell out, my soul, the greatness of His Name!
Make known His might, the deeds His arm has done;
His mercy sure, from age to age the same;
His holy Name, the Lord, the mighty One.

Tell out, my soul, the greatness of His might!
Powers and dominions lay their glory by;
Proud hearts and stubborn wills are put to flight;
The hungry fed, the humble lifted high.

Tell out, my soul, the glories of His Word!
Firm is His promise, and His mercy sure.
Tell out my soul, the greatness of the Lord
To children’s children and forevermore!

THE CHURCH'S ONE FOUNDATION

The Church’s one foundation, is Jesus Christ, her Lord;
She is His new creation, by water and the Word:
From heav’n He came and sought her, to be His holy bride,
With His own blood He bought her – and for her life He died.

Elect from every nation, yet one o’er all the earth,
Her charter of salvation, one Lord, one faith, one birth;
One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food,
And to one hope she presses, with every grace endued.

Though with a scornful wonder, men see her sore oppressed,
By schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed;
Yet saints their watch are keeping, their cry goes up, “how long?”
And soon the night of weeping, shall be the morn of song.

‘Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation, of peace for evermore;
'til with the vision glorious, her longing eyes are blest,
And the great church victorious, shall be the church at rest.

Yet she on earth hath union, with God the Three in One,
And mystic sweet communion, with those whose rest is won:
O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we,
Like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with Thee.

THE KING OF LOVE MY SHEPHERD IS

The King of love my Shepherd is, whose goodness faileth never;
I nothing lack if I am His, and He is mine for ever.

Where streams of living water flow, my ransomed soul He leadeth,
And where the verdant pastures grow, with food celestial feedeth.

Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, but yet in love He sought me,
And on His shoulder gently laid, and home rejoicing brought me.

In death’s dark vale I fear no ill, with Thee, dear Lord, beside me;
Thy rod and staff my comfort still, Thy cross before to guide me.

Thou spread’st a table in my sight; Thy unction grace bestoweth:
And O what transport of delight, from Thy pure chalice floweth!

And so through all the length of days, Thy goodness faileth never;
Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise, within Thy house for ever.

THE LAW OF THE LORD

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul.
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold.
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart.
The commandments of the Lord pure, enlightening the eyes.
Chorus

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever.
The judgments of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.
Chorus

THE LORD’S MY SHEPHERD

The Lord's my Shepherd, I'll not want.
He makes me down to lie, in pastures green;
He leadeth me the quiet waters by.

My soul He doth restore again; and me to walk doth make,
Within the paths of righteousness, even for His own Name's sake.

Yea, though I walk in death's dark vale, yet will I fear no ill;
For Thou art with me; and Thy rod, and staff my comfort still.

My table Thou hast furnished. In presence of my foes;
My head Thou dost with oil anoint, and my cup overflows.

Goodness and mercy all my life, shall surely follow me;
And in God's house forevermore, my dwelling place shall be.

THE MYSTERY OF THE CROSS

The mystery of the cross I cannot comprehend, the agonies of Calvary
You the perfect Holy One, crushed Your Son,
Who drank the bitter cup reserved for me.

Your blood has washed away my sin, Jesus, thank You,
The Father’s wrath completely satisfied, Jesus, thank You,
Once Your enemy, now seated at Your table, Jesus, thank You.

By Your perfect sacrifice, I’ve been brought near,
Your enemy, You’ve made Your friend.
Pouring out the riches of Your glorious grace,
Your mercy and Your kindness know no end.
Chorus

Lover of my soul, I want to live for You. (x2)
Chorus

THERE IS A FOUNTAIN FILLED WITH BLOOD

There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Immanuel’s veins;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day;
And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood shall never lose its power,
'til all the ransomed church of God, be saved, to sin no more.

E’er since, by faith, I saw the stream, Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.

Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Thy power to save,
When this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave.

THERE IS A REDEEMER

There is a Redeemer, Jesus, God’s own Son;
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, Holy One.

Thank You, O my Father, for giving us Your Son;
And leaving Your Spirit till, the work on earth is done.

Jesus, my Redeemer, name above all names,
Precious Son of God, Messiah, lamb for sinners slain.
Chorus

When I stand in glory, I will see His face;
And there I’ll serve my King forever in that holy place.
Chorus

THIS IS MY FATHER'S WORLD

This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas; His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass; He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father’s world. O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world: the battle is not done:
Jesus Who died shall be satisfied, and earth and Heav’n be one.

‘TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS

’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, and to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise, and to know, “Thus says the Lord!”

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him! How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! O for grace to trust Him more!

O how sweet to trust in Jesus, just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me ’neath the healing, cleansing flood!
Chorus

Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus, just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking, life and rest, and joy and peace.
Chorus

I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee, precious Jesus, Saviour, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me, wilt be with me to the end.
Chorus

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

To God be the glory! Great things He hath done!
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son;
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done!

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood!
To ev’ry believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Chorus:

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son:
But purer and higher and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see!
Chorus:

TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS

Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
