Pillar Bible Church History:

5 October 2024 – We had our first planning meeting and discussed the following: why plant a church in Krugersdorp, what will the church look like, and how we can prepare and support.

7 December 2024 – We had our second meeting focused on a biblical Ecclesiology. It was a helpful time to look at what are the roles and responsibilities of the leaders (the shepherds) and the members (the sheep).

18 January 2025 – We had our third core group meeting with our teaching section focused on Part 2 of Ecclesiology. We spent our time looking at what the Bible teaches about spiritual gifts and how best to serve one another in the body of Christ for the glory of God.

15 February 2025 – We had our fourth core group meeting learning about the importance of evangelism within the Krugersdorp community. Praise the Lord for His provision supplying us with a venue and steady budget.

5 April 2025 – We had our final meeting with an encouragement from Pastor Tim. As we saw with the very first Antioch in Acts 11, we are ready to spread the gospel in the Krugersdorp community!

20 April 2025 – Opening services! Praise the Lord for the opening of Pillar Bible Church. We had two services this Sunday studying Acts 2.

Why plant a church in Krugersdorp?

With a population size of over 450 000 people, there is a dire need for more Bible-teaching churches. Dom Alves has the desire to meet this need. Under the guidance and oversight of the elders, Antioch Bible Church will be sending Dom out with a group of members to plant a church in the Krugersdorp area.

 

How can we join/support now?

There are various ways that you can join or support us as we seek to spread the gospel through this plant.

Firstly, pray for us – pray that the Lord will give us true wisdom (James 3:17) as we move forward with these plans. We know that He alone will build His church – without Him, our labours are in vain (Psalm 127:1).

Secondly, prayerfully consider being sent out by Antioch with us to plant this church. The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few (Matthew 9:37-38).

Thirdly, if you know of anyone living in the Krugersdorp area, please send them our way. We would love to meet them and serve them. You can direct them to our Small Group that meets in the Rant-en-Dal area on Wednesday nights at 18:30-20:00 – all are welcome. Better still, send them to our Sunday services!
