“The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God.
They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green,
to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.” –Psalm 92:12-15
The Cedars small group, exists for the same purposes as all the other midweek subgroups of the Antioch church family, and enables a Deacon leader to assist the Elders in shepherding members of the Church through individual care and counsel within the small group. The only difference with the Cedar small group is that it provides a group meeting for individuals who may otherwise not attend a Wednesday night group. Most of those who attend the Cedars group are either self employed, retired, in the last phase preceding retirement from their work places or in post retirement part-time employment. The most common denominator is that they prefer to meet during the day for various reasons including severe winter weather and the danger of travelling alone at night. Hence most members in the group are pensioners or reaching that stage of their lives. Members attending this group find that they have much more in common with the Cedar group than in one of mixed ages but essentially much younger than themselves. Church members are at liberty to attend both the once monthly Cedar daytime meetings as well as a regular midweek evening small group meeting.
Cedars meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 11am to 12h30pm at Antioch Bible Church.
The Cedars also have a Share and Care WhatsApp outreach group for daily prayer and praise
